Coding Streams?
I’ll admit I think they can be interesting sometimes, I don’t know about my own ability to do so. The highest in computer anything I’ve done is high school, and it wasn’t the best of experiences. Either way I’ve been working on something I’m sort of interested in, so I figured why not try to see if anyone else is interested in it too? Worst case I just have video proof if I ever made something myself and needed to prove it.
I streamed for a couple hours today of my program I’ve dubbed K.A.R.E.N., for no real reason. I’ll come up with the acronyms later. Just a bot thingy that listens to a key word after a button press and does the corresponding thing, so far. In the future I want to try to make a sort of artificial intelligence that will listen and do commands it learns itself from the computer system. In the beginning I’ll settle for being able to be like Captain Kirk and have my own sort of Captain’s Log, even if the voice it’s using right now IS a little creepy.
Creepiness aside, I want a way for the bot to be able to speak. That’s text to speech speak. Eventually I will figure out how to modify the voice to make it sound better, but I just wanted it done so there ya go. Since I want the bot to speak more than just what I program it to, I decided to work on a small project I’ll be able to turn on and when I press the hotkey for the script, not only will my program run the file for the designated command, but on the chance I didn’t say the right thing, or just wanted to mess around, I would be able to talk to the bot, Karen.
Ending this the day after I started it, I am going to try to advance the text to speech on stream in a bit. It was kind of cool doing something other than gaming for a change, so on top of doing gaming streams, I’ll mix in some coding as well. And somewhere along in between I’ll be on Discord doing music practices with my guitar.
Hope everyone has a good day!
