Not Streaming but Still Working

I may not have been streaming the last couple of days too much but I have been working on things in the background. Not super groundbreaking things, which is why I haven’t been streaming them, but there has been progress nonetheless. I’ve been toying around with SSH for a while and have been failing at getting it to work for me reliably until just recently, and am now able to SSH into my server, my phone, and my desktop with pretty much no difficulty. The only thing I need to work on fixing is the issue about needing a password still when using the SCP command. If that wasn’t a problem I’d have more figured out by now.

 

I set up a basic backup script on the server to run with a cron job every week, and another cron job to restart the server every night. Thankfully with the programs I installed (OpenVPN mostly) it autostarts and my devices seem to auto-reconnect to the server. So my VPN experience hasn’t been too bad either these last few days.

 

Mostly I’m just trying to keep myself busy during all the down time I never thought I would get with all the stay at home stuff going on. I think waking up and doing music, then writing, and finally doing some streaming by the end of the day is the way to go here, I just need to stick with the schedules, and work that schedule around the work at home that of course always needs done.

 

I did get a to-do program called TaskWarrior installed on my computer. It’s a command line program, so I run it in a terminal. It has an added benefit of working from SSH commands so I can add to the list on my computer from my phone, or any other device I have setup to SSH to my computer. Today I’m gonna try to get a little bit more done on the computer, mostly framework building for doing more in the future. Figuring out the backups, how that’s gonna work, and other maintenance stuff, and maybe working on a story towards the last part of the day. I’ll get myself moving towards a stream tonight at 7PM PST so keep a lookout on my Twitch for that.

 

UPDATE: I may be doing a bad, but in an effort to try to get OpenCV and SpeechRecognition installed correctly I am attempting to remove all versions of Python currently installed on my computer and am going to try to install them again, this time correctly. I may also just break everything. Oh well. Wouldn’t be the first time I’ve had to reinstall an operating system if it goes belly up lol. I’m mostly just bored and trying to cure the boredom with useful projects.

 

On the note of useful projects I have a couple that involve a Raspberry Pi and a soldering kit. So if I happen to get those items I’ll fill everyone in. It’s pretty cool IMO, and a little dangerous due to electricity. Perfect stuff for a video and livestreams about how it’s going.
